What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?
A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) is someone who has been trained by the Nutritional Therapy Association. They evaluate the nutritional needs of a client and make bio-individual recommendations including what they are eating, how they are living, and possibly nutritional supplementation.
Nutritional Therapy Practitioners do not diagnose or treat diseases. Each state is different in how a NTP can operate.
NTPs do focus on the foundations of nutrition (including a bio-individual nutrient dense diet), an active lifestyle that supports their client's goals, and much more.
With that said, this blog is for educational purposes only. I am not a doctor and do not work one on one with clients. If you find yourself needing one on one support with a NTP, I have a few colleagues I can recommend you to or you can search the Nutritional Therapy Association directory for NTPs by state or possibly by certain topic (example: hormones or diabetes).
