Mother’s Day Gift Guide

The one day out of the year we use to specifically celebrate mom or your mother figure, hopefully it’s not the only day she’s showered with love though.

I bet more than anything she just wants to spend time with you. If you are looking for something a little more than that, keep reading.

There are so many ways to celebrate her. Is she a stay at home or go out on the town kind of lady?

Theme: Quality time

Stay at home options could include an invitation for brunch, lunch, or supper at your house (or hers if she is really a homebody).

Out on the town is kind of self explanatory and could include a meal out and looking around at some antique stores (or whatever she’s into), a spa day, or a day trip somewhere.

Theme: Acts of kindness

Does she have some work around the house that needs to be done? Some honey do’s that just keep adding up. Replacing old mulch with new and adding in some new flowers is a lot of work but mom sure will be happy.

Theme: Local

Does she enjoy supporting local businesses? Maybe she has a favorite coffee shop, flower farmer, rancher, or boutique. Some people don’t like giving gift cards so you may have to do some investigating to know exactly what she likes from the shop. Another option might be to give a gift card and a plant/flowers.

Theme: Made in America

Who doesn’t love quality, made in USA products? I’ve been loving socks from Zkano for a few years now. (My mom also loves the ones I’ve given her.) They use organic cotton that was grown in Texas, dyed in South Carolina, and spun in Alabama. Their family mill is in Fort Payne, Alabama, which was once known as the “sock capital of the world.”

Click here for 10% off your order. They sell plain socks or socks with a design in ankle, crew, or knee-high.

For New Moms

Some ideas from a new mom I know personally: gift card for a massage, nice restaurant, food/grocery delivery service, or car detail.

On a budget or like to DIY? You could offer to detail her car, bring her food, or ask what you can do to help out around the house.

Update 4/25/23

Erin Wakeman from The Unsubscribe podcast has released a Mother’s Day episode. Even if you aren’t a podcast person, I think this is worth the listen. It’s 36 minutes so it could easily be listened to while cleaning the kitchen, driving to the grocery, doing laundry, sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather, or broken up into smaller listening intervals if that’s better for you.
