Rice Recipe

This is how I make the most delicious tasting rice.

*I use Thai Jasmine rice*





Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice

  • 1.5 cup water

  • 1 Tablespoon butter

  • 1 teaspoon salt





Rinse rice a couple of times until the water is mostly clear. (I just rinse it in the pot that I’m going to use to cook, but rinse however you please. You can also soak rice overnight then drain and rinse the next day.)




Add rice and water to pot over high heat

Add butter and salt

Stir

Bring to a boil

Stir

Lid on and reduce heat to a simmer

Simmer for 15 minutes

Remove from heat and let sit undisturbed for 5 minutes

Fluff with a fork if desired (I never do)




Enjoy!




Tips:

  1. If there is any rice leftover, keep the lid on so it doesn’t dry out

  2. I use about 1/2 cup dry rice per person- if you are scaling

  3. I always double this to have for leftovers

  4. This works with a regular measuring cup or the rice measuring cup

  5. You can also use bone broth/stock instead of water
