Cat Information
Things I’ve learned about cats since Isabella got sick. (Originally started this 5/7/24)
Hairballs are common but not normal.
2. Take notice of them. So you can notice when they aren’t acting themselves.
A. Note their daily outputs.
B. Note their daily behavior.
3. Sardines are not the best treat for cats…. but I can’t remember the exact reason the vet said.
4. I now know that when she was rubbing the side of her mouth with her little paw, it was because she was in pain. Teeth grinding can also be a sign of pain. Even though cats have been domesticated for a while now, they still have wild instincts imbedded within them to hide any signs of weakness from prey.
I would do differently:
I would buy a book on cats. My local library has a few, as does Amazon.
Further learning resources:
I found a podcast called Cattitude. I only listened to a few but I especially liked episode 232 talking about play behavior and keeping the cat carrier out to acclimate them to it as well as episode 230 talking about hairballs.
