Kitchen Items I Love

If you are planning on getting in the kitchen more or if you already spend a lot of time in the kitchen here are some of my favorite items. If you can find things at your local thrift store or a local shop that would be ideal but Amazon links are provided if you need them (I do make a small commission when you use my link at no extra cost to you- thank you). I label various items with this tape.

This is the 1/2 inch. They have different widths available.

Storage

Large glass storage containers

I put flour in mine but the possibilities are endless.

Glass storage containers

I actually have two sets of these. I put cornmeal and white sugar in the bigger ones and brown sugar, coffee, powdered milk, and cream of tarar in the smaller ones.

Spice jar containers with stickers and magnetic racks.

These are on the side of our fridge. (mine actually have white rectangular stickers but I guess those aren’t available anymore)

Rectangular, square, and round glass containers. The gasket is removable for cleaning.

18 count= 9 containers

Rectangular glass containers. The gasket is removable for cleaning.

6 piece= 3 containers

Square glass containers. The gasket is not removable.

10 piece= 5 containers

Water

Osmosis water filter

This is how we filter our drinking water. We have used this system for 6 years. In the past we have installed it under the sink (in our house and camper). We currently have it mounted to the wall in our basement.

Electric kettle

I got this yeeeeaaaars ago as a birthday present or maybe a wedding present.

Food Prep

Stainless steel colander

I got this for Christmas this year and I’ve already used it many times.

French fry cutter (can use it for carrots and cucumbers also but I’ve only used potatoes so far)

I also got this for Christmas and I’ve made many batches of French fries with this. It is VERY sharp though. I’ve cut myself a few times just holding it the wrong way.

Potato ricer

I’ve only made mashed potatoes with this once… eh, I need to try it again for that. But I’ve riced potatoes for gnocchi with this and they were delicious.

KitchenAid Food Prep

I like to use this if I have a lot of cheese I need to shred.

Something else I’ve had for yeeeaaarrrrrsss. I make mayonnaise with it weekly and have also used it to puree vegetables.

(My husband actually found this on clearance at a store for $15!)

Colorful measuring spoons

(I have the measuring cups to match but they are no longer available.)

Grease container with strainer
